Thursday, 1/2. Corfiot "Petegoletsa" ("The Gossip") - a satirical take on local events, presented in the Corfu dialect. Held at Pinia in the town centre. Wandering musicians play cantades and mantolinates (Italianate serenades).
Sunday, 11/2. Evening procession in Corfu Town featuring traditional Italian carnival costumes, dances and "tarantellas" from Carovigno. Masquerade with orchestra at Kourkoumelata, in the Region of Leivathous on Kefallonia.
Thursday, 15/2. Traditional "Petegoletsa" (presentation of malicious "street gossip" in Corfiot dialect) at Karousades on Corfu.
Sunday, 18/2. "Cheese-eating Sunday". In the Historic Centre of Corfu Town during the morning promenade, masked Italianate groups circulate. The main Carnival procession takes place, with floats, and a programme of artistic presentations by the troupes. At the end, the "will" is read, King Carnival is burned and a firework display takes place.
Clean Monday, 19/2. Start of Lent. Traditional processions and festivals take place all over Corfu. Festival with live music on Mount Agii Deka, in the Region of Achilleion, Corfu. Carnival events at Peroulades, Velonades and Avliotes in the Region of Esperion on Corfu.
Sunday, 25/2. Orthodox Sunday. Religious procession of the Sacred Body of Saint Theodora in Corfu, in memory of her contribution to the restoration of the Holy Icons.

09.00. Procession of the Venerable Body of Saint Spiridon. This event is the oldest of the four processions of the island's Patron Saint, and commemorates his miraculous delivery of the island from famine.
11.00. "First Resurrection". Church bells ring out, and in Corfu and Lefkada the local residents hurl clay pots out of their windows onto the streets and alleyways, accompanied by Philharmonic Bands.
24.00. The Resurrection Mass.

Wednesday, 6/6 - Saturday 9/6. Brindisi - Corfu Regatta. An off-shore yacht race with the participation of more than 140 vessels from all over Europe. Organized by the Sailing Clubs of Corfu and Brindisi.

Friday, 15/6 - Saturday, 30/6. Festival of Theatre by students from all over Corfu, taking place in the Region of Achilleion.

Saturday, 23/6 - Sunday, 24/6. Two-day Festival of Saint John, all over the Ionian. Local children leap over large fires which they light on the street.
