The quickest way of getting to Corfu is of course by air. Domestic flights fromAthens and Thessaloniki are operated by Olympic Airways and Aegean Airlines The duration of the flight from either city is approximately 50 minutes.

There are any number of alternatives for getting to Corfu by sea.

• Every day a large number of ferry boats, of both the 'open' and 'closed' type make the crossing from Igoumenitsa to Corfu. Timetables vary according to the season.
• Large ferry boats depart from Patras for Italy, usually stopping at Corfu.
  From Italy (Bari,Brindisi,Ancona) the same ferries stop in Corfu before continuing to Patras.

Should you be planning to come to Corfu by yacht, you may be sure of a warm welcome, with all the services you may require, at the Gouvia Marina, very close to the town, while in the town itself there are mooring facilities for visiting yachts at N.A.O.K. and in the old port.

- For Paxos there are daily departures by Flying Dolphin from the New Port. The crossing takes 1 hour (direct) or 1hr and 40 mins. (via Igoumenitsa). In addition there are daily ferry boat departures from Corfu and Igoumenitsa, should you wish to take your car.

- For the Diapontian Islands there are regular departures with the 'Alexandros K.' from the New Port as well as a regular service from Sidari. Ticket prices are as follows: Corfu to Erikoussa: 5.28 euros, to Mathraki 5.58 euros, to Othoni 5.72 euros and for transport between the islands 2.35 euros.

Apart from traveling with your own car, you can get to Corfu using the KTEL bus service, which operates daily services departing from Athens and Thessaloniki with intermediate departure points.
